Woman constable drowns while teaching son to swim in Kailashahar

Agartala, August 20: In a heartbreaking incident that unfolded in the serene village of Tilakpur, Kailashahar, a woman constable lost her life while attempting to teach her son to swim in their own pond. The community has been left in shock and mourning following this tragic event.

The victim, identified as Rupali Sinha, was the wife of police constable Somen Sinha and a cherished resident of Tilakpur village. The unfortunate incident occurred on a fateful Saturday afternoon when Rupali Sinha ventured into the waters of her family’s pond to impart swimming lessons to her son.

Eyewitnesses at the scene acted swiftly, pulling Rupali Sinha from the pond and immediately transporting her to the Unakoti district hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, despite the best efforts of the medical team on duty, Rupali Sinha could not be revived, and she was pronounced dead.

The grief-stricken community, reeling from the loss of the 29-year-old police constable’s wife, was left in deep sorrow. The news of this heart-wrenching incident has cast a somber shadow over Tilakpur village as residents come to terms with the untimely demise of Rupali Sinha.

Following a post-mortem examination, the body of the deceased Rupali Sinha was returned to her grieving family on Sunday, marking the end of a harrowing ordeal for them.

This tragedy serves as a poignant reminder of the unpredictability of life and the need for continued vigilance and safety measures, even in familiar surroundings. The community extends its condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
