Agartala, 25th April 2025:  Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the founder of Tipra Motha Party, has urged the Indian government to adopt a similar approach toward Pakistan and Bangladesh, especially in response to their hostile actions. His statement came after the recent terror attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Debbarma expressed his support for India’s stance against Pakistan but emphasized that the government should respond similarly to actions originating from Bangladesh, particularly in East India. He stressed that the lives of people in Eastern India are just as valuable, and India should not hesitate to respond to threats from Bangladesh with the same firmness as it does to Pakistan.

He raised concerns about the growing influence of both Pakistan and Bangladesh, with the former potentially threatening India from the west and the latter from the east. He pointed out recent troubling developments, such as China’s construction of an air base in North Bengal and the visit of an ISI general to Bangladesh. Debbarma warned that such events could significantly affect Tripura and the region.

Furthermore, he reminded that territories like Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, and Chattogram were once part of Tripura, and urged for greater unity to understand and address the challenges posed by these neighbouring countries. Debbarma called for equal treatment of Pakistan and Bangladesh, emphasizing the importance of national pride and security for all Indians, regardless of their geographical location.
