Agartala: May 07. TIPRA Motha Chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarman today met Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, reportedly, to discuss various issues related to the development of TTAADC areas.
An elected Member of the Tribal District Council, Debbarma said, the TIPRA delegation sought Dr Saha’s intervention to resolve several issues that had long been pending before the state government for clearance.
He said, “A lot of issues are discussed during the matter that are taking toll on the normal functioning of the Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. The ADC has passed a lot of customary law and Land Revenue Bills which are yet to get governor’s assent. Apart from that, the TTAADC has launched several schemes pertaining to strengthening the health infrastructure but the state government did not release any funds for that.
The Chief Minister gave us a patient hearing and told us that he would take up the issues with the Chief Secretary and the Finance Secretary to know the status of the proposals forwarded by the TTAADC”.
The Motha Supremo had also mentioned that the issue of constitutional solution for the indigenous people was also discussed at length.
