Agartala, 13th January 2025: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced today that the state government has initiated steps to fill over 8,000 vacant positions across various roles in the Home Department.
Dr. Saha, who also serves as the state’s Home Minister, disclosed that 7,323 posts are currently vacant in the department, including 2,125 positions for Constables. “The recruitment process is ongoing, and the state government is actively working to fill these vacancies, including those for Constables,” Dr. Saha said. He added, “We have started the process of recruiting 218 Sub-Inspectors (both Armed and Unarmed) for male and female candidates through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). Additionally, recruitment for 1,000 Constable posts is underway, and steps are being taken to appoint another 916 Constables.”
Dr. Saha also highlighted that ad-hoc promotions are being utilized to address the shortage in various positions. Furthermore, he noted that the recruitment process for 6,067 Special Police Executives is nearing completion.
