Raid in Gouranga Tilla recovers 31 cooking gas cylinders

Agartala, 7th January 2025:  Acting on a tip-off, the Teliamura sub-divisional administration in collaboration with the Sub-Divisional Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department and Teliamura Police Station conducted a raid on a house in the Gouranga Tilla area. The operation led to the recovery of 31 cooking gas cylinders and several gas books from the residence of Prabodh Chandra Roy.

The raid was conducted today, involved the efforts of DCM Amit Roy Chowdhury, Deputy Controller Subhankar Chowdhury, Food Inspector Dipankar Saha, and Teliamura police officers. They recovered 18 filled cooking gas cylinders and 13 empty ones stored in Prabodh Chandra Roy’s house.

“Storing cooking gas cylinders in populated areas is illegal. We will investigate how these cylinders ended up in this house,” stated DCM Amit Roy Chowdhury.

The authorities intend to continue their investigation to determine the source and the intended use of the illegally stored gas cylinders, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety regulations.
