Agartala, 19th November 2025: Panic gripped Khowai town this morning after a stray dog went on a rampage, attacking pedestrians across several localities. At least seven people, including women and elderly residents, were bitten and left injured in the incident.
Witnesses reported that the dog, described as a white stray, ran through different parts of the town, biting passersby one after another. News of the attacks quickly spread, leaving residents fearful and hesitant to step out of their homes.
The injured were rushed to Khowai District Hospital for treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that most victims suffered bleeding wounds from dog bites.
One of the victims urged authorities to act swiftly: “The stray dog must be identified and safely captured to restore confidence among the public,” he said.
Local residents have appealed to municipal officials to take immediate measures to prevent further attacks and ensure public safety.
