Agartala, 4th April 2026: A special health screening camp under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) was organised on August 04, 2025, under the Panisagar Sub-Divisional Health Centre in North Tripura. The camp was held at Harijan Colony Anganwadi Centre and Bilthai B.H. Colony JB School with the aim of improving children’s health and spreading awareness among parents.
During the programme, a total of 81 children were examined by the RBSK medical team. The screening was carried out in the presence of the Anganwadi worker and the school headmaster. Dr. Abhinav Dhar conducted the health check-ups and also interacted with the children and their guardians. He explained the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, preventing anaemia, and taking deworming medicines regularly. Parents were also informed about healthy living habits and how to identify early signs of common illnesses.
Some health issues were detected during the screening. Among the children, two were found to have skin problems, three had respiratory infections (ARI), and three had dental issues. These children have been referred to higher health centres for proper treatment, and necessary follow-up steps are being taken.
After the check-up, nutritious food was distributed among the children, adding to the importance of the programme. Speaking at the event, Dr. Dhar said that the main goal of the RBSK programme is to identify health problems in children at an early stage and ensure timely treatment so that they can grow up healthy.
Officials from the health department said that such camps play an important role in creating awareness and enabling early detection of diseases. They also assured that similar programmes will continue in the coming days. The program saw active participation from local administration, healthcare workers, teachers, and parents. Their collective effort made the camp a significant step toward protecting child health in the region.
