Reunion festival at Bilthai Class XII School celebrated with felicitation and tribute

Agartala, 9th June 2025:  The spirit of nostalgia, pride, and celebration marked the 2025 Reunion Festival at P.M. Sri Bilthai XII School under the Panisagar subdivision, as alumni, students, teachers, and local dignitaries gathered at the Vidyasagar Hall on Sunday. The event was organized by the Alumni Association of the school, which also celebrated its seventh anniversary on the occasion.

The event was inaugurated by Jubarajnagar MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath, who unveiled a plaque to open the school’s newly established Merit Garden. “It is a moment of pride to see the alumni coming together to celebrate excellence and give back to their roots,” said the MLA. The ceremony began with the traditional watering of a sapling by the guests, followed by a melodious inaugural song by current students of the school.

Alumni Association President Laxmikanta Das presided over the program, with Dr. Rahul Purkayastha, Executive Committee Member and Assistant Secretary, delivering the welcome speech. He said, “This platform is not just about reconnecting with old friends, but about recognizing talent and honoring the pillars who have built this institution.”

In a moving moment, the association felicitated the top achievers of 2025. Joydeep Nath, who scored 480 in the Secondary Examination and Bikash Dey, who scored 498 in the Higher Secondary Examination, were awarded certificates, mementos, and gifts. Additionally, 10 secondary-level students and 45 higher secondary-level students who scored over 60% were also honored.

The gathering also paid tribute to retiring and outgoing teachers. Anupam Dihidar, the former assistant headmaster, who has served for more than 30 years and is now promoted as Assistant Principal at Kadamtala School, was felicitated with heartfelt appreciation. Retired teacher Dilip Kumar Das was also given a warm farewell.

Among those present were Headmaster and Chief Patron Deb Nath, Teacher-in-charge Gautam Goshmami, Secretary of the Alumni Association Amitabh Chakraborty, former Zilla Parishad member Mousumi Deb Nath, Bilthai Gram Panchayat head Jhiki Goswami and senior member Ajit Das.

The event concluded with the ceremonial cake-cutting by the MLA to mark the seventh anniversary of the Alumni Association. A strong sense of enthusiasm and unity was visible throughout the event, reflecting the lasting bond between the institution and its alumni.
