Agartala, 25th May 2024: Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath visited the home of the late Purnendu Bikash Datta on Saturday morning to meet and console his grieving parents. He expressed his sympathy, acknowledging the profound pain of losing a son and promising to support them through this difficult time.
He said, “I know mourning a son is an excruciating pain for parents. I tried to be by their side as much as possible and assured them of my continued support. I pray to God to rest the departed soul in peace.”
It is worthy to mention here that late Purnendu Bikash Datta, a talented cricketer and Inspector of Vehicles in Tripura’s Department of Health and Family Welfare, tragically died from electrocution while returning home from an evening with friends.
The 32-year-old from Ananda Para in Sabroom under South district was caught in a sudden rainstorm and electrocuted by a hanging power line.
Despite being rushed to Sabroom Hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival. Authorities have launched an investigation, and after a post-mortem, Datta’s body was returned to his family.
