Agartala, 9th September 2026 : A 38-year-old scooty rider was seriously injured after being hit by a truck in the Rabipara area of Malayanagar on Tuesday. The incident sparked tension in the locality after the truck driver and his associates allegedly fled the spot following the accident.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Abhidas, was travelling on his scooty through the Rabipara area when the collision occurred. The impact threw him onto the road, leaving him seriously injured.
A Pulsar motorcycle was also damaged in the accident and reportedly left badly wrecked.
Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the injured man before sending him to GBP Hospital in an autorickshaw for treatment.Meanwhile, police from Srinagar Police Station reached the accident site after being informed. The truck involved in the accident bears registration number TR01X1741, while the scooty’s registration number is TR03K8077. Another vehicle involved has been identified with registration number TR01B9659.
Following the accident, the truck driver and his associates allegedly fled the scene. Police have launched a search to trace them and have begun an investigation into the incident.
