Agartala, 21st April 2026:A security guard at Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital was allegedly beaten severely by a man accusing him of having an illicit relationship with his wife. The incident took place in the Gamai Bari area under Teliamura police station limits.
According to local reports, the security guard, identified as Rajib Malakar, was allegedly involved in a long-standing extra-marital relationship with the wife of a local resident. On Monday night, the woman’s husband reportedly called Rajib Malakar to his home and assaulted him brutally.
Following the attack, local residents and the injured man’s mother rushed him to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital. He sustained serious injuries to his head and body and is currently undergoing treatment. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later referred to GBP Hospital for advanced medical care.
Meanwhile, Rajib Malakar’s mother has denied any involvement of her son in any such relationship and stated that she will seek legal action in the matter.
The incident has created tension and widespread concern in the area. Police have been informed and further investigation is underway.
