Agartala, 16th May 2026: Residents of Ambassa town are reeling under acute hardship due to the municipal council’s alleged mismanagement of the drainage system. Even light rainfall is leaving roads and residential areas waterlogged, causing widespread inconvenience.
Locals complain that the situation has worsened over time because of poor cleaning and maintenance of the drainage channels. They warn that unless permanent measures are taken immediately, the onset of monsoon could turn the crisis into a disaster.
Beyond obstructing daily movement, stagnant water is also raising serious health concerns. Frustrated residents have openly expressed anger at the municipal council’s failure to act and have urged the local administration to intervene without delay.
The growing resentment highlights a pressing question: how long can basic civic issues be ignored before they spiral into larger public health and safety emergencies?
