AIDSO protest in Agartala pver NEET-UG 2026 paper leak

Date:

Agartala, 16th May 2026:   In protest against the alleged leak of NEET-UG 2026 question papers, the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) has called for a nationwide protest week from May 13 to 19. As part of this campaign, AIDSO Tripura organized a student demonstration in front of Agartala City Centre today, demanding a thorough investigation into corruption surrounding the examination.

The organization alleged that malpractice in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), has jeopardized the future of nearly 2.2 million meritorious students across the country. They pointed out that this is not an isolated incident, as similar irregularities have surfaced twice in the past three years, yet no exemplary punishment has been handed down to those involved.

AIDSO leaders accused both central and state governments of neglecting their responsibility toward education, instead paving the way for commercialization. They claimed that this environment has normalized incidents such as question paper leaks and result manipulation, often involving transactions worth crores of rupees.

Speaking at the protest, AIDSO Tripura State Secretary Raju Acharya demanded the dissolution of the NTA, transfer of responsibility for conducting NEET-UG and other national-level examinations to the government, and exemplary punishment for those implicated in the leak. He urged students, youth, and teachers across political lines to unite in defense of public education.
