Six Bangladeshi Nationals Detained at MBB Airport in Agartala

Agartala, 31st July 2024:  Tripura Police detained six Bangladeshi nationals at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala. According to Airport Police Station Officer In-Charge Abhijit Mandal, the police received a tip-off about some women loitering suspiciously around the airport premises.

“Upon receiving the information, we quickly arrived at the scene and questioned the women. During the interrogation, they revealed that they had entered Tripura without passports and were Bangladeshi nationals. We have detained them and brought them back to the police station,” said Mandal.

The six women were reportedly planning to leave the state for another destination. The police have produced them before the court, seeking police remand for further investigation.
