Agartala, 18th February 2025: Six Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers sustained serious injuries when the auto-rickshaw they were traveling in overturned on the Bishalgarh-Boxanagar road near Raghunathpur. The accident occurred as they were en route to a BJP program at Officetila in Sepahijala district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the mishap took place when the auto driver, attempting to avoid hitting a dog on the road, lost control of the vehicle. The auto overturned, leaving six passengers injured. The victims, identified as Sabita Debnath, Ranu Debnath, Swapna Debnath, Shikha Debnath, Anjana Debnath, and Surjit Debnath, were immediately rescued and rushed to Bishalgarh Hospital for treatment.
The BJP program at Officetila was organized by the Sepahijala district North unit, and the injured workers belonged to the Charilam Mandal. The incident has sparked concern among party workers and local residents, who have called for better road safety measures in the region.
