Agartala, 5th April 2025: A skull was recovered from the east side of the Dhalai River embankment near the old motor stand area in Kamalpur subdivision on Saturday afternoon, triggering panic and deep curiosity among locals.
The skull was discovered by a group of children who were playing on a plot of land belonging to the late Hemchandra Ghosh. The children reportedly stumbled upon the skeletal remains lying partially exposed on the ground, prompting alarm and swift word-of-mouth across the neighborhood.
Upon receiving information, personnel from Kamalpur Police Station along with a forensic team rushed to the spot and recovered the skull. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether the skull is of human or animal origin, keeping all possibilities open.
The incident has sparked a wave of speculation and intrigue in the area, with many residents gathering near the site to witness the recovery and express their concerns.
While the forensic report is awaited, officials have urged locals to remain calm and not indulge in rumors.
