Agartala, May 12, 2023: The cyclone ‘Mocha’ was developed in the southeast sea in the early hours of Thursday morning and then it collects energy from the ocean. The state administration is constantly monitoring the movement of Cyclone ‘Mocha’. Although the cyclone has not yet entered the state, all positive preparations have been made by the administration. After a meeting between administrative officials on Thursday, the district administration has been asked to be vigilant. The State Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert, especially in Gomati, South and Dhalai districts in Tripura.

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has issued yellow signal in the remaining five districts. All departments involved in dealing with natural disasters including NDRF, SDRF, Fire Service have been kept ready. SPO Dr Sarat Kumar Das informed the media about this on Friday. He said that according to the report of Friday morning, the cyclone is located in the north-west. It then moves north as a severe cyclone. Taking the bow in mid-ocean, he would change his direction and turn north-east. Coming towards Tripura. It will hit Tripura, Mizoram, South Manipur, Myanmar and Bangladesh. On May 13, there will be light cyclonic storm with rain.

But on May 14 there will be a cyclone with a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour. Constantly communicating on behalf of the Government of India. If any help is needed then a hand will be extended. He also said that there is no possibility of cyclone on May 15, but there is a possibility of rainfall. He said that the administration is fully prepared to deal with the situation. Meteorologists say that the longer a cyclone stays over a body of water, the more powerful and destructive it becomes. He gathers all his energy from the sea. So is the case with ‘Mocha’. After 72 hours in water, many fears have arisen about the increase in strength and effects of ‘Mocha’. However, the Meteorological Department feels that the strength of the cyclone may weaken slightly on Saturday. If it hadn’t been, ‘Mocha’ could have been even more devastating.
