State to get 28 more 33kv sub-stations: Power Minister

Agartala, 9th October 2023:   Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath today said that electricity is essential for the growth and development of civilization and Human civilization is unimaginable without electricity.

Power Minister said this while inaugurating the 33 KV substation and two-storey control room at Chintarampara of Hejamara block today.

In the event, the Minister of Power said that electricity is one of the elements of the development of civilization and development cannot be carried forward without electricity.

It should be noted that 9 crore 84 lakh rupees have been spent on the construction of this 33 KV substation and two-storey control room.

The people of Barakathal, Israi, Chachu, Sonai, Battala, Dumakari, Urabari and its surrounding areas will benefit from the construction of this substation in Chintarampara of Barakathal area.

Inaugurating the 33 KV substation, the power minister also said that most of the electricity in our state is generated using natural gas.

“Work has already started on alternative methods of power generation if underground gas and coal run out in the coming days. By 2030, a target of 500 MW of solar power generation has been taken in the state. Before 2018, there were only 38 numbers of 33 KV substations in the state. 23 more substations have been constructed in the last 5 years. 28 more substations will be constructed”, he said.

Tripura Power Transmission Limited GM Ranjan Debbarma delivered the welcome address on the occasion. MLA Brishketu Debbarma, MDC Rabindra Debbarma, Hejamara BAC Chairman Sunil Debbarma and others were remained present.
