Agartala, 9th July 2024:   In a show of dissent, students from Pramodnagar Higher Secondary School staged a road blockade on Pramodnagar Road on Tuesday morning as their beloved English teacher Moushumi Debbarma was transferred to another school.

District Education Officer Malay Bhowmik accompanied by Education Department officials swiftly responded to the situation. The students argue that the school already faces a shortage of teachers and losing Moushumi Debbarma exacerbates the issue. They firmly believe she is irreplaceable.

As the road blockade persisted, numerous vehicles found themselves caught in the crossfire. Moushumi Debbarma, who regularly teaches English and Science at Pramodnagar Higher Secondary School, enjoys unwavering support from her students.

In a bid to resolve the impasse, District Education Officer Malay Bhowmik engaged with the protesting students, urging them to submit a written statement opposing Moushumi Debbarma’s transfer. The situation remains tense as the school community rallies behind their teacher.
