Agartala, 16th May 2025:  Students of Pralhad Sadwar Para Class XII School at Karbook sub-division staged a protest this morning blocking the Jatanbari-Karbook main road to demand adequate teaching staff.

The protest stemmed from concerns over faculty shortages. While the school initially lacked sufficient students for 10th grade, it later secured recognition for Class XII, yet no additional teachers were appointed. Frustrated by the inaction, students resorted to a road blockade, disrupting movement for traders and vehicles heading to Karbook’s weekly market.

Upon receiving reports of the protest, officers from Notunbazar Police Station and the chairman of the School Management Committee arrived at the scene to engage with the students. The protesters insisted that Karbook Sub-Divisional Education Officer Dhamudhar Tripura must personally visit the site and address their grievances.

Following the escalation, Education Officer Tripura reached the protest location, held discussions with the students, and provided them with a written assurance regarding their demands. With this commitment, the students agreed to withdraw their blockade, restoring normal traffic flow in the area.
