Agartala, 28th October 2025 :  Students of Karnajay CP High School staged a road blockade in Kanchanpur this morning, protesting the recent transfer of a science teacher amid an ongoing faculty shortage.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans, the students gathered in front of the school and blocked a key road, disrupting traffic for several hours. School buses, passenger vehicles, and private transport were stranded as police and local administration rushed to the scene to manage the situation.

The students allege that the school has been grappling with a severe teacher shortage for months, particularly in science subjects. Of the two science teachers assigned to the school, one was recently transferred, leaving students with limited access to regular classes. Concerned about their academic future, the students said they had no choice but to take to the streets.

“Our studies are suffering. We’ve repeatedly appealed to the school management and the district education office, but no action has been taken. We want the transferred teacher to be reinstated immediately,” said one protesting student.

Despite multiple representations, students claim they received no assurance from authorities regarding either the teacher’s return or alternative arrangements. The blockade was lifted following intervention by the administration, but students warned of intensified protests if their demands remain unmet.
