Agartala, May 20, 2023: Animal Resource Development, Fisheries and SC Welfare minister Sudhangshu Das arrived at South Tripura district on a two-day visit. He is working for the overall development of the state and employment opportunities of the unemployed youths.
On the second day of his visit to South Tripura district, he visited the pig farm at Birchandra Manu of Shantirbazar sub-division and also met the members of a self-help group run by TRLM in Birchandra Manu area. It is learned that 20 members of this self-help group are rearing pigs together. In the next few months, they will see the profitable aspects of this pig farming.
During today’s visit, speaking to media personnel here minister Das said that he is working to increase the production of milk, eggs, fish and meat in the state. In addition to that, he said that efforts are being made to make students who are in the class VIII or whose employment deadline has passed through the Departments of Fisheries and the Animal Resource Development financially sustainable. It is not possible to give employment to all, so minister Das is trying to find employment for the unemployed through these offices.
He said that he will stay in each district for two days in a month. On the first day, he will meet the officials of all departments in a discussion meeting and interact with people through field visits on the following day.
Minister Das is working to increase people’s interest in fish farming and animal resources.
By visiting Birchandra Manu area, the minister found that the veterinary office is locked even after 12 noon. He immediately sent the official of the department to the staff working in the veterinary department. Meanwhile, Principal Veterinary Officer of TTAADC gave a letter to Sukanta Debbarma, ARDA, SMSC of BC Manu for unauthorized absent in duty and reply by May 24 next.
After visiting Bir Chandra Manu area, minister Das visited SC Boys Hostel and Santirbazar Class XII School. He gave some detailed information to the media about today’s program.
