Sushanta inaugurates modern water treatment plant at Fatikroy

Agartala, August 16, 2022: Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS) minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday inaugurated a newly built modernized surface water treatment plant with a water treatment capacity of 1.20 lakh gallons per day under the initiative of the department of Drinking Water and Sanitation at Fatikroy.

While inaugurating the treatment plant on Tuesday, Chowdhury said “Our government’s mission is to provide safe drinking water to all. The government is working towards that goal. If we do not reduce our dependence on groundwater, we will face serious consequences in the near future.”“This surface water treatment plant will henceforth be able to meet the demand of clean drinking water to a large extent for the local people including common people, traders and passers-by who come for various services in this area”, he added.The inaugural ceremony was attended by Scheduled Caste Welfare minister Bhagaban Chandra Das, Fatikroy MLA Sudhangshu Das, DWS Chief Engineer Shyamlal Bhowmik and other dignitaries were present in this event.
