Agartala, January 07: The Swami Vivekananda Club of Uttar Badharghat here launched a 7-day program on Sunday to mark the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the spiritual leader and social reformer.
The program was inaugurated with a ceremony attended by Mayor Dipak Majumder of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Chairman of South Zone of Municipal Corporation Abhijit Mallik, Councilor Sampa Sarkar Chowdhury and other dignitaries.
The program will include various cultural and social activities to spread the message and teachings of Swami Vivekananda among the people. Mayor Dipak Majumder, while addressing the ceremony, said that Swami Vivekananda’s vision and guidance are still relevant and inspiring in the present times.
He said that the government is following his ideals and working for the welfare of the people. He also praised Swami Vivekananda for his emphasis on human service and said that the people are also following his example.
