Teachers’ training workshop inaugurated at Holy Cross School, Agartala

Agartala, 15th January 2026:   A three-day Teachers’ Training Workshop was inaugurated today at the Holy Cross School campus, Durjoynagar, with the participation of 293teachers from 45 schools across Tripura. The programme is being organized by the Holy Cross Educational Foundation (HCEF), Agartala, in collaboration with ASHA Foundation, Bangalore.

The workshop aims to equip teachers with essential skills to understand and support adolescents during their formative years, address classroom challenges effectively, and help students face real-life situations with confidence and resilience.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr. K. J. Abraham, President of Holy Cross Educational Foundation, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Fr. Abraham highlighted the importance of continuous formation for teachers. He noted that “education today must focus not only on academic excellence but also on the formation of hearts and minds. Teachers play a crucial role in nurturing emotionally strong, responsible, and hope-filled young people.” He also expressed happiness over HCEF’s collaboration with ASHA Foundation, appreciating their long-standing commitment to adolescent empowerment.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr. George Jacob, CSC, Secretary of Holy Cross Educational Foundation, said, “This workshop is a significant step towards empowering our teachers to respond more effectively to the needs of today’s adolescents. We are grateful to ASHA Foundation for partnering with us and sharing their expertise for the benefit of schools across Tripura.”

ASHA Foundation, a public charitable trust established in 1998 and recognized by UNICEF for its work in adolescent empowerment, is facilitating the sessions through a team of experienced resource persons. The three-day programme focuses on understanding adolescent growth and development, classroom management strategies, emotional resilience, and leadership building among students.

Teachers from Holy Cross School, Agartala, as well as educators from various schools across the state, are participating in the training. The workshop will conclude on January 17, 2026.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the quality of education by investing in the holistic formation of teachers, who play a vital role in shaping the future of young people.
