Agartala, 22nd September 2025: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Teliamura in Khowai district Apurba Krishna Chakraborty has issued a set of guidelines for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations to ensure safety, law and order, and environmental protection. The instructions were shared during a press meeting with representatives from electronic and print media this evening.
As per the directive, the height of idols shall not exceed 20 feet, while pandal superstructures will be restricted to 40 feet. The use of non-biodegradable items has been strictly prohibited.
Organizers have been asked to obtain prior permission from the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) before using public address systems or microphones in public spaces. Moreover, loudspeakers and mikes will not be allowed between 10 pm and 6 am. Their use is also banned in silence zones within 100 meters of hospitals, educational institutions, and courts.
The height of microphones from ground level must not exceed four meters, and sound output must be limited to 75 decibels. Firecrackers emitting more than 90 decibels have been completely banned, and even permissible firecrackers cannot be burst between 10 pm and 6 am.
The SDM further informed that the last date for submitting applications for permission from the SDPO, Teliamura, is September 24, 2025, before 11 am. Additionally, application forms for vehicle passes needed for no-entry zones during the Puja have also been circulated.
