TET candidates stage protest at TRBT office over exam irregularities

Agartala, 11th June 2025 :  Hundreds of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) candidates gathered outside the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) office for the second consecutive day, demanding redressal of alleged discrepancies in the recently conducted examination.

Today, TET 2 candidates staged a day-long demonstration citing concerns over out-of-syllabus and erroneous questions in the exam held on April 27. The protest intensified on Wednesday as TET 1 candidates joined the agitation, voicing similar grievances.

The final answer key for the exam released on June 09 failed to address these concerns as no compensatory marks commonly referred to as “star marks” were allotted for the disputed questions. This prompted candidates to approach the TRBT chairman, urging full marks for the flawed questions. However, with no resolution in sight and the chairman refusing to meet them, the protesters resorted to blocking the main gate of the TRBT office.

As tensions escalated throughout the day, police intervened to restore order. Job seekers reiterated their demand for a fair evaluation and insisted on receiving due marks for the disputed questions. The protest reflects growing frustration among aspirants, highlighting concerns over transparency in the recruitment process.

Authorities have yet to issue an official response regarding the demands of the candidates.
