Theft at Anganwadi Center: Thieves strike at Bishramganj

Agartala, 25th July 2024:   The Chandra Mohan Chowdhury Para Anganwadi Center located under Bishramganj Police Station fell victim to a theft last night. The intruders forcibly broke the door lock and gained entry into the facility.

According to reports, the thieves made off with essential items including rice, pulses, chira (flattened rice), cooking gas cylinders and kitchen utensils. The theft was found early Thursday morning by Anima Debbarma, the worker of the Anganwadi center and helper Sabitri Debbarma, who then alerted local villagers.

The Bishramganj Police were promptly notified and arrived at the scene to investigate. Both Debbarma and Sabitri detailed the stolen items, which primarily consisted of food supplies and cooking equipment, highlighting the impact of the theft on the community’s resources.
