Agartala, 23rd August 2025:   A late-night theft at the Ramakrishna Seva Mandir in AD Nagar here has triggered widespread alarm and public outrage after miscreants broke into the temple premises and looted valuable items including a gold ornament from a deity and two donation boxes containing cash.

According to temple authorities, the incident came to light early this morning when the temple priest arrived for daily rituals and noticed the gold ‘tip’ adorning the forehead of Goddess Sharada was missing. He also found the donation boxes broken and emptied. The priest immediately alerted the temple committee, who rushed to the scene and later filed a formal complaint with the local police.

Police officials have launched an investigation and suspect the theft was premeditated, exploiting lapses in nighttime security. No arrests have been made yet.

Local residents, many of whom regularly visit the temple and contribute donations, expressed deep concern over the breach. While the exact amount stolen remains unconfirmed, officials believe the donation boxes contained a substantial sum.
