Agartala, December 15, 2022: A theft took place at a grocery store in Das Para area under Bishalgarh sub-division and took away Rs 40,000 and grocery items worth about Rs 10,000 on the late night of Wednesday last.
Reportedly, Prasenjit Das of Das Para area went to his shop on Thursday morning and found that the back door was broken and looted Rs 40,000 from his cash box and also took away groceries amounting to Rs 10,000.
Earlier, he used to spend the night in the shop for the past few years after giving the shop, but on Wednesday night he went home, as his house was next to the shop. Some mischievous youths who consume drugs in the area are involved, said Prasenjit.
Every evening, the drug dealers in Vishalgarh Noapara Road keep insisting to sell their intoxicating materials and by buying the intoxicating materials from these drug dealers, the youth of the present area have become addicted to some kind of drug, brown sugar, yaba tablets, drugs in Noapara Road in the evening.
Drug peddlers carry on their business on bikes and bicycles while on the move with various intoxicants including induction. Starting from the youth of the area, the youth of the neighboring areas buy drugs from these drug dealers and get addicted to a type of drug and indulge in various anti-social activities.
Repeatedly, their families took various roles against these drug dealers and under the current law, all those drug dealers escaped punishment because they could not recover such amount of drugs from the local people and the administration, due to which they were arrested and brought to the police station and handed over to the court.
By consuming these intoxicants, the youth of the area are doing anti-social acts, as a result of which the drug dealers have committed an incident at the shop of Prosenjit Das in the area on Wednesday night.
However, the local people can clearly say that the intoxicated youths of the area are involved in this theft incident.
