Three detained, stolen motorcycle recovered in Bitarban raid

Date:

Agartala, 22nd  August 2026 : Agartala West Police Station achieved a breakthrough in a motorcycle theft case by detaining three suspected thieves and recovering a stolen motorcycle and a bicycle during a raid in the Bitarban area last night.

The action followed an FIR lodged by Alok Chakraborty after his motorcycle went missing. Acting on leads gathered during the investigation, police conducted the raid and recovered the motorcycle, which was identified as the one reported stolen by Chakraborty.

Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala Police Station, Sanjit Sen, said the case had been investigated seriously since the complaint was received. The three detainees are being interrogated to determine their possible involvement in the theft and whether they have links with a wider vehicle theft network.

Police have intensified the investigation to identify other persons allegedly involved in motorcycle and vehicle thefts in Agartala and surrounding areas. They are also examining whether the recovered bicycle and motorcycle are connected to other theft cases.
