Three suspects arrested, stolen goods recovered in Ramnagar store theft

Agartala, 26th August 2025:   West Police Station staff has arrested three individuals in connection with a recent burglary at a local convenience store, recovering a cache of stolen items including cigarette cartons and other merchandise.

The theft took place late on August 22 at Maa Tripureshwari Store, located near the Sporting Club on Ramnagar Road No. 4. Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged at West Police Station, prompting swift action police personnel.

Under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee, a special investigation team launched an intensive search operation. After several days of surveillance and inquiry, police arrested three suspects last night. The arrested individuals have been identified as Gautam Sarkar, Raju Biswas and Pritam Shil. Authorities confirmed that the stolen goods were recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, the suspects revealed the involvement of a fourth accomplice. Police have since initiated a targeted operation to locate and arrest the remaining individual.

Speaking to the media personnel here today, SDPO Debaprasad Roy praised the prompt response of the police team, stating, “Thanks to the vigilance and coordination of our officers, we were able to crack the case in a short span of time. We are confident the remaining suspect will be arrested soon.”

Local residents have expressed relief over the swift police action, noting that the arrests have helped restore a sense of security in the area.
