Three Youths Arrested with drugs in Battala Bazar

Agartala, 9th February 2025:  In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, police have arrested three youths with a large quantity of narcotics from Battala Bazar in the capital. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sahadeb Debnath, Ankit Dev, and Suman Ghosh.

According to police sources, these youths had been engaged in selling narcotics in front of Battala Howrah Market for a considerable period. Acting on a tip-off, a joint operation was conducted by the Battala Outpost and West Agartala Police Station on Friday, leading to their arrest. The trio was caught red-handed while dealing in illicit substances.

The police have seized a significant quantity of narcotics from their possession. A case has been registered against them under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain if more individuals are involved in the drug peddling racket. Further interrogations and follow-up actions are expected as law enforcement agencies work towards dismantling the network.
