Agartala Jan 22: Tipra Motha has withdrawn its 12-hrs strike in Dhalai district’s Kamalpur sub-division on January 23 following arrest of all six accused related to muder of party worker Pranajit Namashudra early this week.

Announcing the decision of withdrawal of bandh, TIPRA Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman cited that January 23 marks the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and as a mark of respect towards the great freedom fighter such protest or bandh cannot be allowed on that day.

In his facebook post, Pradyot wrote, “There will be no bandh on 23rd of January in Surma and Kamalpur area. That auspicious day happens to be the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and as a mark of respect we cannot allow such protest”.

He further mentioned that all the six culprits have been apprehended by police in the murder of Pranajit Namashudra and the party expects strictest punishment and justice.
