To Ensure Railway Passenger Safety, Govt setting up Railway Police Stations: CM

Agartala: September 19. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said that prioritizing the safety of railway passengers, the state government is establishing Railway Police Stations across the state. Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating the new Government Railway Police Station at Belonia railway station in the South District.

“Safety of railway passengers is of utmost importance in the state. Railway Police Stations are being constructed with the safety of railway passengers as a top priority,” said Dr. Saha. He mentioned that this railway police station will play a crucial role in preventing drug trafficking and maintaining order in the railways. Dr. Saha also addressed the police officers and staff present at the inaugural ceremony and urged them to stay vigilant in order to prevent various crimes. “I believe the new facility will ensure enhanced security for rail passengers,” he added. IGP Soumitra Dhar and Superintendent of Police Amitabh Pal were present at the inauguration ceremony.
