Transport Minister Calls for Swift Completion and Orderly Operation of Inter state Truck Terminal

Agartala, 12th July 2025: A key meeting of the Inter-State Truck Terminal Development Society was held today at the conference hall of the Inter-State Truck Terminal in Madhab Bari under Jirania Sub-divisiona, to review the ongoing development and management of the facility.

Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, who chaired the meeting, stressed the importance of ensuring the smooth functioning of the terminal. He directed officials to expedite the completion of unfinished works and urged administrative personnel to maintain strict vigilance to prevent any disorder involving truck drivers or related individuals within the terminal premises.

“The terminal must run in a disciplined manner. All stakeholders should maintain a balance in their responsibilities to avoid confusion or conflict,” the Minister said.

Highlighting the need for professionalism and mutual cooperation, Chowdhury emphasized that an orderly and efficient management system is vital for the long-term success of the terminal.

The meeting was attended by Jirania Panchayat Samiti Chairman Pritam Debnath, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Vice Chairperson Prabin Kumar Das, Subdivision Magistrate Animesh Dhar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Rural) Himadri Prasad Das, and prominent social workers including Gauranga Bhowmik and Ranjit Roy Chowdhury.

Members of the Terminal Development Society, along with officials from various departments including the Public Works Department, also participated in the discussion.

The Inter-State Truck Terminal at Madhavbari is seen as a crucial infrastructure project aimed at improving logistical efficiency and boosting trade connectivity in the region.
