Agartala, 25th September 2025: A tree plantation programme was organized today at the Aryavarta University Complex in West Tilthai Palgaon under the Jubarajnagar assembly constituency as part of the nationwide “Seva Pakhwada” celebrations.
The event was inaugurated by Youth Affairs & Sports minister Tinku Roy, who ceremonially watered a sapling to commence the initiative. Zilla Parishad’s Sabhadipati Aparna Nath, officials from the Forest department and other invited dignitaries were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Roy emphasized the importance of nurturing the planted trees, stating, “Planting trees is not enough; their proper care and preservation are essential to ensure the success of such initiatives.”
Organized by the Forest department, the programme not only promoted afforestation but also called upon citizens to commit themselves to protecting the environment.
