Agartala, 30th March 2024: In preparation for the imminent Lok Sabha elections, an organizational gathering convened at the Pradesh BJP headquarters in Agartala, spearheaded by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Pradesh Tea Cell on Saturday.
The meeting, chaired by BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, served as a platform for the introduction of the party’s nominated candidates for the upcoming elections, namely Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Singh Debbarma.
During the session, Rajib Bhattacharjee delivered a fervent address, vehemently denouncing the former Left Government for its alleged neglect of the development of tea garden workers and their families, rendering them devoid of fundamental amenities.
He remarked, “Under the previous Left administration, the progress of tea garden workers and their families came to a standstill. Not only were they bereft of essential services, but they were also subjected to frequent extortion under the guise of subscriptions.”
Bhattacharjee emphasized the transformative impact ushered in by the BJP-led government, asserting, “Since assuming office, the dual-engine government has prioritized the comprehensive development of these communities.”
Enumerating the initiatives undertaken, he highlighted measures such as wage hikes and the provision of vital infrastructure including housing, sanitation facilities, ration cards, potable water, and electricity for tea garden workers.
Bhattacharjee implored the attendees, particularly tea garden workers and their families, to lend their support to BJP candidates Biplab Kumar Deb for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat and Kriti Singh Debbarma for the East Lok Sabha seat.
He underscored the significance of securing victory for the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the forthcoming elections, rallying for the re-election of the BJP-led government at the central level.
