Agartala, 17th July 2026 : Emphasising that a census is far more than a statistical exercise, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Thursday said it serves as a vital foundation for planning and implementing inclusive and effective developmental programmes.
Leading by example, the Chief Minister completed his online self-enumeration for Census 2027 from his official residence, becoming one of the early participants in the nationwide exercise. By personally registering his details through the digital platform, he encouraged citizens to actively take part in the self-enumeration process.
Addressing the occasion, Dr. Saha said the introduction of the self-enumeration facility reflects the government’s commitment to making Census 2027 more accessible, transparent, and technology-driven. He described the upcoming census as a landmark exercise that will play a crucial role in shaping future policies, development planning, and the equitable distribution of public resources.
The Chief Minister also appealed to the people of Tripura to participate wholeheartedly in the exercise, stressing that accurate and timely information provided by citizens would contribute significantly to the state’s and the nation’s future development.
