Tripura seeks NDDB partnership to strengthen dairy sector; Minister meets NDDB chairman

Agartala, 17th July 2026 : Tripura Animal Resources Development (ARD) Minister Sudhangshu Das on Friday met the Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) at its campus in Anand, Gujarat, to explore strategies for strengthening the state’s dairy sector.

The minister was accompanied by ARD Secretary Deepa D. Nair, Director Niraj Kumar Chanchal, and senior officials from NDDB during the meeting.

The discussions focused on increasing milk production, promoting sustainable dairy practices, enhancing nutritional security, and creating better income opportunities for dairy farmers in Tripura.

After the meeting, Minister Das described the discussions as productive and expressed confidence in building a strong collaboration between the ARD Department and NDDB.

“I look forward to a significant and strong partnership between the ARD Department and NDDB to further strengthen Tripura’s dairy industry,” Das said.

The proposed partnership is expected to support the modernization of dairy infrastructure, improve productivity, provide technical assistance to farmers, and introduce sustainable development initiatives aimed at accelerating growth in Tripura’s dairy sector.
