Agartala, 23rd May 2026: The Tripura Contractual Employees’ Forum felicitated nine irregular employees who recently won a landmark case in the Supreme Court. The felicitation ceremony was held at the Student Health Home in the capital.
The event was attended by Forum Convener and senior advocate Purushottam Roy Barman, General Secretary Ratan Debnath, and other members of the organization.
Speaking to reporters, Roy Barman stated that the nine employees had fought a long legal battle for regularization of their services. “One of them unfortunately passed away during the struggle. The rest pursued the matter all the way to the Supreme Court, which ultimately ruled in their favour and directed the government to regularize their jobs,” he said.
He further added that these employees have set an example for others in similar positions, becoming “pathfinders” for the wider community of irregular workers in Tripura.
