Agartala,  15th July 2024 :  Tripura Santiniketan Medical College has received official approval to commence its MBBS course starting from the academic year 2024-25. This milestone aims to provide integrated, technology-based advanced healthcare services and excellence in traditional, professional, and technical education to the people of North-East India, with a special focus on Tripura.

The admission process will begin soon, giving children of Tripura the opportunity to pursue medical education without the need to leave the state. The President of Tripura Shantiniketan Medical College, Malay Peet, announced that the construction of a 630-bed hospital is expected to be completed within the next year. This hospital will evolve into a multi-super specialty hospital within the next two years, enhancing healthcare infrastructure significantly.

Established with the exclusive cooperation of the state government, the college is located at Rani Khamar in Madhuban near Agartala. It has already received recognition and approval from the National Medical Council. In addition to the medical college, plans are underway to develop Tripura Knowledge City around the campus. This Knowledge City will encompass institutions offering nursing, pharmacy, paramedical, and various other professional and technical education programs, ensuring ideal institutional management.

The establishment of Tripura Santiniketan Medical College and the proposed educational institutes are expected to spearhead a new direction in the development of health and education across the entire Northeast India, including Tripura. This initiative is a significant step towards meeting the healthcare needs of the region and providing high-quality education to its students.
