Agartala, 12th May 2024 : Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday said that Tripura has set an example in the country by organizing blood donation camps.
Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating a mega blood donation camp at Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Aralia, Agartala.
“Today is a particularly important day as it is International Mother’s Day. On this day, we remember Kabita Behenji, who was like a motherly figure. Blood donation is one of the most significant donations. We are all equal, as God resides within every human being. While we face numerous challenges in life, the crisis of blood shortage reminds us of our direction,” he said.
Dr. Saha emphasized that blood donation camps are necessary to underscore the principle that people are there for each other.
“During the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a shortage of blood. When I appealed to people to come forward and donate blood, they generously extended their helping hands, resulting in blood donation camps being organized across the state. There was a noticeable shortage in blood collection during the election period. We can now separate the components of blood, including plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, in Tripura, which was not possible earlier. It is imperative to ensure the availability of blood in blood banks. Tripura has set an example in India with its blood donation camps,” he said.
Furthermore, he expressed that nothing is possible without God. “While there were atheists in the past, the people of the state are now moving away from such beliefs and embracing a positive shift towards faith and spirituality. We aim to work for everyone’s welfare. Both our state and central governments are tirelessly working for the people,” he added.
Dr. Saha also inaugurated another blood donation camp at Sree Sree Ram Thakur Seva Mandir premises, Banamalipur, on the same day.
