Agartala, 27th October 2025: The Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TRBT) has officially released the results of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) One and Two for the 2024–25 academic session, bringing long-awaited relief to thousands of aspirants. Over 2,000 unemployed youth have successfully cleared the examination, marking a significant milestone in their pursuit of teaching careers.
However, the celebrations have been marred by growing frustration among successful candidates, as the TRBT has yet to issue the qualifying certificates required for participation in recruitment processes. The delay has triggered widespread concern and anger, with many fearing they will miss upcoming job opportunities due to the lack of documentation.
This morning, a group of TET-qualified candidates gathered at the TRBT office to meet with the board chairman, demanding immediate issuance of certificates. They argued that without the official document, they remain ineligible for teacher recruitment despite having cleared the exam. The absence of a clear timeline for certificate distribution has only intensified their grievances.
Candidates also raised alarm over the acute shortage of teachers in government and aided schools across the state. They claimed that many institutions lack subject-specific educators, severely impacting the quality of education. According to them, the number of vacant teaching positions far exceeds the number of candidates who passed the TET this year.
In light of this, the group urged the state government to initiate mass recruitment of all qualified candidates to address both the employment crisis and the deteriorating education standards. They emphasized that swift action is essential for improving Tripura’s academic infrastructure and reducing youth unemployment.
“There is no justification for delaying the certificates,” one candidate said. “If the process doesn’t begin soon, we will be forced to launch a larger movement.”
The TRBT has not yet responded publicly to the demands or provided a timeline for certificate distribution.
