Tripura’s Three Panchayats Win National Awards, CM Hails Achievement

Agartala, 31st March 2026:  Three panchayats from Tripura have earned national recognition by winning the prestigious Deen Dayal Upadhyay & Nanaji Deshmukh Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar 2025, awarded by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha shared the news on Facebook, expressing his delight over the achievement. He stated that the state has made a strong mark at the national level, with three of its panchayats being honored.

Sepahijala district secured the top position as Best District Panchayat, while Kanchabari Gram Panchayat was ranked first in the Healthy Panchayat category. Baikunthapur Gram Panchayat also earned recognition by securing the third position in the Women-Friendly Panchayat category.

According to the Chief Minister, the awardees will receive prize money of Rs 5 crore, Rs 1 crore, and Rs 50 lakh, respectively. He also expressed pride in the state’s grassroots governance system.
