Agartala, 25th September 2025: The festive spirit of Sharadiya Durga Puja has enveloped the headquarters of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) 9th Battalion at Sachirambari, as preparations for welcoming Goddess Durga reach their final stages. The battalion’s personnel and their families have come together to celebrate the occasion with joy and devotion, transforming the premises into a colorful haven of lights, floral garlands, and traditional alpana art.
Deputy Commandant Banoj Biplab Das shared that this year’s Puja budget is significantly larger than previous years, allowing for a more elaborate and captivating celebration. Major allocations have been made for pandal construction, idol crafting, cultural programs, and community feasts. Local artisans have nearly completed the idol of Goddess Durga, showcasing divine elegance and craftsmanship.
From Mahashasthi to Mahadashami, the Puja will feature daily rituals alongside a rich lineup of cultural performances including music, dance, recitations, and theatrical presentations. A special model highlighting Tripura’s natural diversity has been installed to attract visitors, while dedicated spaces have been arranged for feeding children. Emphasis has also been placed on cleanliness and legal awareness, with informative banners displayed around the pandal.
More than a religious observance, this Durga Puja serves as a unique opportunity to strengthen camaraderie among the jawans. Amidst the rigors of military discipline, these few days offer a chance to share warmth and unity. “This celebration is a symbol of the TSR family’s solidarity and humanity. With Goddess Durga’s blessings, may peace and security prevail across the state and the nation,” said Deputy Commandant Das, inviting the public to join in the festivities.
