Agartala, 13th April 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has said that preliminary assessments from the recently held Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections suggest a favourable outcome for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also called on all political parties to ensure peace and avoid any form of violence during and after the counting process.
The Chief Minister made the remarks following a review meeting with BJP leaders regarding the TTAADC polls, which were conducted across 28 constituencies. He noted that the party has been regularly reviewing feedback from candidates, booth-level teams, and polling agents to estimate vote share trends ahead of the official results.
According to him, while internal reports indicate positive prospects for the BJP, the final results will only be known after the State Election Commission announces them on the 17th. He added that preparations for counting day, including logistics for counting agents and party workers, have already been completed.
Saha also mentioned that BJP candidates have sought re-polling in certain polling stations, but the final decision lies with the State Election Commission. He added that the party is ready to cooperate if such a step is taken.
Highlighting the importance of maintaining law and order, the Chief Minister appealed for peaceful conduct during the election process and said political violence must be avoided. He stressed that both administration and political parties should work together to ensure a calm and orderly counting process.
The TTAADC elections, conducted under the supervision of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, are considered significant in shaping tribal governance in the state.
