Agartala, 5th November 2025: Two individuals have been arrested for allegedly submitting forged documents in court to secure bail for a Bangladeshi national. The accused, identified as Duple Nath and Sanjib Malakar, were taken into custody yesterday following a directive from the local court. The arrests were carried out by Dharmanagar police.
According to sources, Duple Nath is employed with the Health Department and is currently posted at the Bhagyapur sub-centre under the Brajendranagar Primary Health Centre. Investigators allege that Nath submitted a fake salary slip in court to facilitate the bail of the foreign national. Sanjib Malakar is also accused of being involved in the submission of counterfeit documents during the bail proceedings.
The incident has sparked widespread concern across the region, with many expressing alarm over such fraudulent activity within the judicial system. Authorities have described the act as a serious breach of trust in a space meant to uphold justice.
Dharmanagar Police’s Additional Officer-in-Charge, Dulal Chandra Das, confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway. Preliminary inquiries are focused on tracing the origin of the forged documents. The case has prompted heightened scrutiny within administrative circles, with officials vowing to take stringent action against those responsible.
