Two Bangladeshi youths held at Sabroom railway station, produced before court

Agartala, 22nd June 2026:   Police from Sabroom Police Station arrested two Bangladeshi youths from Sabroom railway station following a tip-off. The arrested youths were produced before the Sabroom court on Monday.

Police sources informed that the duo was apprehended on Sunday evening during a special operation based on information received by the police. The arrested persons have been identified as Rifak Hasan (18), a resident of Srimantapur in Comilla, and Tarek Hossain (18), a resident of Hathazari in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

During preliminary interrogation, police found that the two youths had allegedly entered India through the Belonia border area. They reportedly planned to travel to Kolkata after crossing into Indian territory.

Following their arrest, police completed the necessary legal procedures and presented them before the Sabroom court on June 22. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the details of their entry route.
