Agartala, August 2, 2022: Locals arrested two drug peddlers with drug paraphernalia at Dakshin Dighal Bak area near Dharmanagar College Road. It is learned that some youths in the area have been suspicious of the arrival of some youths from outside the area for some time and they looked into the matter. As days went by, the suspicions of the youths of the area became more and more intense.
On Tuesday around 12:30 afternoon, the locals of the area noticed that an outsider youth came to the area on a Pulsar bike and was trading drugs to the local youths of the area. Just at this moment, some locals of the area who were waiting to trap them and booked two local youths with drug paraphernalia. The outsider youth managed to escape but the local youths were caught red-handed.
Sources said that the locals beat them severely after trapping them. Information was given to the Dharmanagar police station staff. Reaching at the spot, police personnel searched and recovered 40 containers of brown sugar from their possession and cash worth around five and a half thousand rupees were also found.
The name of the outsider youth is Halal Uddin while one of the local youth is Prannoy Das. Currently they are in Dharmanagar police station. It is learnt that they will be produced in the court tomorrow. The police have launched an investigation into the case under the NDPS section.
